Comprehensive method individually structured for each student. Books depending on level and age start with Standard of Excellence and are individually chosen to support the student. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

YOUR IMPROVEMENTS AND PASSION FOR MUSIC WOULD BE MY REWARDS! Setting realistic goals in the first place and helping the students achieve their goals would fuel the desire to progress, and bring more energy to challenge oneself. I would find out the inspirations together with the students and help the students to bring out the undiscovered parts of themselves as a musician! I am so excited in building up a life style of learning music to enhance students' musicianships and more interests in music arts and beauty! Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Music
I love to listen and play music very much, so I try to encourage independence in my students so that they can play what they enjoy and love. I encourage them to listen to how they play by playback recordings, humming to the tunes using their voice even when playing an instrument, so that they can listen and feel their own music. This will encourage them to increase their confidence during performance, lessen their fears and improve their motivation to be a better musicians in the future. Read More

For beginning students, i'll typically start with Suzuki books. It's important for students to learn the left and right hand separately before putting everything together. Once a student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I'll introduce some simpler solo repertoire appropriate for his or her skill level. For advanced, I'll be happy to talk about more advanced musical techniques and theories. I play the piano as well, and I will be happy to accompany my students playing repertoire that needs an accompanist. Read More

I try to be as flexible as possible, many things would depend on the student's age and background. I pay a lot of attention to movement when playing the instrument, I try to do this from the lesson one with an absolute beginner. I consider knowing music theory to be important but secondary, so I try to familiarise my students (especially children) with the instrument from the very beginning keeping the amount of theoretical information minimal. I have been teaching piano lessons in students' homes and music theory courses on college campuses for over 15 years. My first teaching opportunity was in 2002 at the Douglaston School of Music, Dance, and Art, in Queens, New York, where I taught students ranging from 4-40 years old, mostly beginner and intermediate levels. At the Aaron Copland School of Music, CUNY Queens College, I led an auxiliary theory and aural skills lab designed to help students who were struggling pass the main class. Read More
