I continued my instructing career in official capacities as Intermediate Clarinet Instructor at the Potomac Wind Academy and as Clarinet Instructor at Colerain High School. For beginning students I use Faber and John Thompson books. Once the student improves of course we upgrade to more challenging songs and books. For adults I find out what they're interested in and instruct accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and always fun no matter what. I base my teaching method on my strong, enthusiastic, optimistic, patient, and loving character. For beginners, on piano I def reccomend Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Also, "My Favorite Solo Album," by Max Eckstein. Once progression and consistency has been developed I always encourage my students to share what they have learned in to a recital performance. I have a few method books that I like to use in my lessons. For brass students, I like the Rubank method books for beginners and the Arban book for advanced students. For young beginners on classical piano, I like "Music Tree," and the Faber "Piano Adventures" series, and for older kids I use the Bastien literature series.
