As the student progresses with either instrument, I try to encourage them to continue with scales and to move up in their playing abilities and music reading. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. I began my college studies at Eastern Michigan University, becoming a member of the United States Military Academy Band at West Point after my junior year.
