Instruments: Piano Voice
I have taught students on and off since 2013. Since then, my studio has grown. I now teach over a half dozen students of all ages piano and voice. I personalize each lesson to suit a student's desires and needs. One of my favorite things to do is to try to figure out what type of learner a student is. (Auditory, visual, kinesics, etc.) I tailor the lessons to suit their style and allow them to learn a song easier. Read More

My name is Patricia Anselmo and my goal as a flute instructor is to encourage students in their individual growth in their music development. I graduated with both my BM MM degrees in Classical Flute Performance at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. I have studied with Kaoru Hinata, Keith Underwood, and Bart Feller as my primary flute instructors. I have had the opportunity to perform at various orchestral, chamber, and opera festivals in the United States and abroad. Read More

I have lots of experience teaching; I began teaching in my private in-home studio right after college about 6 years ago. I was even interviewed about my teaching and performing for papers in the Delmarva region. In educational outreach I have performed serveral times over the last couple years with the Musical Ambassadors Program that the Richmond Symphony founded, playing woodwind quintet music in schools all over Virginia and teaching the kids about elements of music and the instruments we play. My beginning students learn the fundamentals of their instrument. I want every student to get a well rounded education from me. Woodwinds students study from Essential Elements. Young piano students use the Faber collection and older students use the Bastien series for the Older Beginner. Practical Theory from Sandy Feldstein is used for instrumental students. Spike and Party Cat piano theory books is used for younger piano students. I encourage students to learn solo pieces and memorize scales so they can audition for various festivals. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I structure my lessons in the same way I structure my own personal practice. I usually start off with a few technical exercises, then cover some theory, and then work on repertoire. How much time goes in to each category will depend on the student. A beginner tends to need more time on technique, whereas someone who has an audition or recital coming up will spend most of their time on repertoire. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Ukulele
It's important to me first that my students enjoy their lessons. This means learning at their own pace, offering poisitive feedback, and using music they prefer. With this combination, they usually find music lessons fun and educational! Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
I believe music is something that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy and experience. Studying music and learning to sing or play an instrument can be very rewarding and I enjoy creating that opportunity for people of ages and abilities. I try to create an environment that fosters learning and growth in a comfortable atmosphere. Read More
