I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I began teaching privately in 1985 on the Lubbock ISD Music Tutorial Program. I went into the schools and taught students privately during class hours. I taught Tuba and Baritone Horn. In 1989 I began teaching with Lubbock Parks and Recreation in the community centers. This was more generalized. I taught Band Instruments, Voice, Guitar, Music Theory, Beginner Piano, Beginner Strings. I introduce scales early in lessons. I not only teach traditional scale performance, I teach the mathematical and emotional significance of scales and intervals. Asa student's proficiency progresses, I introduce solo repertoire and encourage recording of solos through Smart Music software. This becomes a milestone ina student's development, as it rekindles interest through technology and creates excitement about professional musicianship.
