I toured with the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale for 5+ years, taught multiple music classes with Olivet Boys and Girls Club and the Reading, PA music foundation. As early as I can recall, Ive loved teaching. Whether that meant being a teachers assistant or elementary school aide in my younger years, or as a music educator throughout and post-college. In high school, I was a Dance Captain for my schools competitive show choir, and would compose, arrange, and choreograph. While in college, I went to several music educators conferences, and was an active member of both the NAfME and IMEA (Indiana Music Educators Association.) Due to my experience working with multiple grade/age levels, I have learned to carefully fine tune my teaching strategy for each individual student that I work with. At the beginner level I typically work from method books to ensure a solid development of performance fundamentals. I also like to spend a good bit of time establishing successful warm-up and practice routines. I believe each student is different. Therefor, lessons should differ depending on each students particular needs, taste in music, and age. I would never treat an adult student like I would a young student and vice versa. I always try to set weekly goals with each of my students in order for them to have something to work towards on a consistent basis. If my students don't reach their weekly goal I simply have a little bit of a review with them in the beginning of the lesson and then proceed with that weeks work. Read More

Theory and sightreading is introduced on day-one, and emphasized in every lesson going forward. Last 40% of each lesson: Repertoire (With every student, I ask that YOU pick one song that you want to sing, in any genre of your choice, and I will in turn supply you with a piece that both suits you, but will challenge you as well.
