I like to select a basic book on fundamentals supplemented with blues, popular, or jazz or seasonal music to Motivate the student. There will be some attention to scales and how chords are built along with other theory as it applies to the pieces they are studying. Some attention is required due to the cycle of fifths and why some keys are selected more than others. I expect the student to review our lesson no less that 4 times a week and not all at once just before the next lesson. Read More

My teaching experience started with Olivet Boys and Girls club in college. There, I started teaching a choral group, glee club, private piano lessons, and group piano lessons. I did this for roughly ~5 years. I also taught lessons prior to this to beginner students throughout high school. Within couple months my little musicians are ready for their first recital. For continuing students I teach in my own Russian style using several books such as Alfred's Basic Piano Library, Alfred's Premier Piano Course, Faber's Adventure series and many other books.
