Most recently, she served as Assistant Professor of Music at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, teaching applied music lessons, class piano, and online music appreciation while also serving as a collaborative pianist for choirs, student recitals, and faculty performances. I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun for the appropriate level(s). I like Mayron Cole piano method because it provide solid progression for rhythm counting, systematic build up for sight reading as well as introducing key concepts in music theory/history/genre. I love giving my students the option to expess themselves and approach them with the methods they enjoy and desire. There are many books on drums and piano or voice. I have to get to know the student to determine what I will use to get better results. It will depend on their age and attitude and initial talent. Also, a lot of kids are busy at school and don't have much time for practice. It means I need to get a lot done during the actual lesson and make sure that the info I m giving is settling in and there are no gray areas and questions of what to do until next lesson. Read More
