Progress might be slow or we might be able to jump to more advanced music in the first month of meeting but I understand that every student is different and will progress at their own pace and I will do my best to help guide them. I love teaching woodwind lessons. My goal is to improve my students technical skills, improve their musicianship skills, and make them better humans. I have taught woodwind lessons to middle schoolers and high schoolers. Several of my students have made honor bands, placed first chair, and advanced to All-State. After a year or two learning the fundamentals, scales and phrasing, then one gets to study the Ferling etudes for region band and a few basic solos for solo and ensemble. Voice in particular is a difficult thing to learn, since the mechanisms are internal and difficult to see as well as hard to control directly.
