I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 1977, I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance. In 1999, I was certified to teach Music K-12 by the state of North Carolina after attending NC Central University. These books follow a progressive sequence of beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. However, this is not necessary; the concept of these books is to get a grasp of the fundamentals. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students succeed and enjoy learning music. I encourage the students to progress at their own pace, while offering some challenge at each level. I use incentives to encourage the students to continue to progress, while getting a sense of accomplishment. I am encouraging, gentle, demonstrate techniques, and help where students struggle.
