Through ear training, creativity, and learning "how" music works, the goal is to get each student to not need a teacher to learn their instrument, but want a teacher so they may become their best version of it. My approach to coaching students is focused on 5 important areas; embouchure, tone quality, intonation (pitch), technique, and time. Memorization of key signatures and scales are very important to the student's overall success. I utilize a method for memorizing key signatures which will decrease the memorization time and increaseretention. My primary instrument is oboe. I have studied with several successful oboists and earned a master's degree in oboe performance from Bowling Green State University, studying with Dr. Nermis Mieses. While earning my degree I took lessons and participated in masterclasses with some of the most successful oboists in the country.
