I am a passionate jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator originally from Los Angeles area. In 2018, I graduated with B.A. in Saxophone Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies at California State University, Long Beach. I am currently attending Manhattan School of Music for a Masters degree in Jazz Composition. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to perform with CSULB's Concert Jazz Orchestra at the 2017 Elmhurst Jazz festival in Chicago, the 2016-2018 LA Jazz Institute, and even have one of my compositions performed at the 2018 JEN Conference in Dallas Texas. For my more advanced students, I introduce fundamental saxophone techniques as well as solo repertoire. The student has to develop in their own phase. My primary role is to inspire and motivate to student, to set goals for them selves, and help them to reach their desired goals. But most importantly having fun with music, each student has an individual way of learning, my goal is to find what inspire them and go deeper into that. We'll listen to a lot of examples of music and we'll play a lot together, my lessons are hands on, learning by playing, this includes leaning songs and look at them from different perspectives; listening, rhythmical, melodically, theoretical, looking at scales sound and rhythm. Originally from Montana, I moved to New York City five years ago to pursue a degree in jazz performance at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
