I believe that my style is really flexible. I think that everybody has a different way to learn so my style will vary based on the student. I also believe that the role of the teacher should the one of facilitating the student process but ultimately is the student who should dictate the style and the pace of the lesson. I believe also that listening is a really important part of music learning so I have my student listening to a lot of different music and also I play with them all the time so that they can hear and feel what is it to play together. I usually start my beginning piano students who are children, in Alfred's Basic Piano Library, Lesson Book 1A. After a few months, I begin adding solo repertoire that is appropriate for age and ability. For middle school age students and adults, I start with Alfred's Basic Piano, Adult, Level 1. I also like to find out the student's individual interest and find repertoire that they are interested in learning and that are aligned with their current skills. Read More

I teach one on one lessons. I go at my student's pace, if they don't understand a concept, I will help them. I will acknowledge their accomplishments and encourage them to keep going. I will do my best to inspire my students and want them to learn more and practice as much as they can.
