In 2019, I graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX with a Bachelor of Music degree with a double major in Instrumental Music Education and Spanish. My teaching experience sates back to running trumpet sectionals (in Junior High High School) for an All Star Jazz Band in my home town. When I was 16 I started teaching younger trumpet students as well. I descovered early on that I had a passion for directing and teaching. This stayed with me, and I always have incorporated education into my directing and leadership styles as a perormer. As a Musical Director for Royal Caribbean I would regularly have to teach an hour long show to my international band in under an hour and a half.I know that learning an instrument is hard work and that motivation is key to success. I like to give a brief history of the style and song to develop an emotional connection with the music being played.
