I'm currently attending Metropolitan State University of Denver getting my bachelor's in trumpet performance. I've been playing the trumpet since I was 11, but really found that it was my calling in my junior year of high school where I decided to pursue a degree in something that I love! Beginners would focus on essential elements books and beginner packets that cover basics and also have rewarding solo pieces. More advanced students would focus on scales and long tones with etudes for fundamentals and repertoire for solo playing and performances. I try to maintain organization and give my students goals to accomplish. In this, I aim to teach them how to create these goals for themselves, giving them a say in what they choose to work on. I will push a student in whichever direction they are aiming for. I maintain an attitude of positivity and try to encourage my students as much as possible.
