Having started playing violin at the age of 5, sharing my love of music has been an enormous part of my life. I originally come from Serbia, where I obtained my BM in Violin Performance at The University of Belgrade.  I continued my graduate studies in Toronto, Canada, where I finished an Artist Diploma program at The Royal Conservatory of Music.  In 2013 I graduated in Masters of Music at The Catholic University of America, in Washington DC. I have 12 years of experience teaching at all levels. I encourage my students to participate in recitals, competitions, and orchestra auditions to gain performance experience and to help motivate them to practice. I also find that performing can give students a sense of accomplishment and seeing their peers perform can be inspiring. I usually host two recitals yearly. On strings I teach a modified Suzuki method, supplementing pieces of a student-requested style at technical benchmarks. Again, connection to music is critical and one of the ways to gain that is through personal involvement in lesson directions. For children, I teach piano from the Bastien method, whereas adults go with Alfred's All-In-One Course. I began student teaching in the late 90’s when I was in high school. I continued to teach on the weekends throughout college and graduate school at Joyful Sounds School of Music. While studying String Pedagogy at Temple University, I taught for the Community Music Scholars Program, a program in conjunction with the Philadelphia public schools allowing low income students to have private lessons at a reduced rate. My teaching experience dates back to my grad school years, as I began teaching private lessons part time in 1995. Since then, I have been teaching more and more students both privately and in school setting. I have taught in Park School, The Friends School in Baltimore area, and Towson University preparatory music department, and currently I'm a faculty in McDonogh School Private Music department.
