I am a fully-certified music educator of 18 years: I have taught both middle school band & choir to at-risk youth for 3 years, as well as elementary music at a private Christian academy for an additional 3 years. With the saxophone as my principal instrument of 32 years now, I also play many other instruments that I teach, including: Piano, Violin, Drums, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, and Trombone. I also took piano lessons, played double bass, and played clarinet in band for 4 years. Cello was my calling, and I focused solely on cello from sophomore through senior year in high school. As I entered my first degree program at The University of Memphis, I found myself focused on performance. However, my cello professor noticed my ability to analyze performances and then offer performers encouragement and suggestions. Through his encouragement, I began to view music very differently.
