I will continually focus on vowel-forming exercises and funneling the singing air through the nasal cavity and middle of the face. This way, the student will understand how to produce a big sound without straining. Breathing exercises such as 'underwater noises' and 'tornado siren' are fun and keep the mood open and lively. For young beginners, I encourage lots of participation from parents because it helps children feel supportive and it is always nice to see how much they grow. For beginning students I believe it's important for them to begin playing the first day. I get the students to make their first sound and teach the technique and theory as they learn their instrument. For beginning voice students I use the same method, but I like to use a song that the student knows. For students with experience I like to have them play or sing something they know and I evaluate that and I will work with them on that song and build their technique. Read More

The best feeling is watching a student progress week by week. By opening up their minds to the world of music, I believe a student can learn more about themselves and the world around them. I always encourage of art of listening with my students. Whether it be a specfic sonata or just a classical music and/or jazz mix tape.
