I do my best to tailor my style to each students specific needs and goals. In general, I am a very laidback and patient teacher. My students recieve clear and achievable goals at the end of each of their lessons to work on while they are practicing during the week. I give criticism, as it is necessary for improvement, but I do not neglect the success in each lesson. I especially strive for every lesson to end on a positive note. I find the last few minutes of the lesson are what the student takes home with them, and as a result foreshadow the following week. If they take home something negative, it is less likely that they will feel the desire to play or practice or even look forward to the next lesson. Read More

My teaching style is flexible and aims to motivate the student to fall in love with playing and practicing on his or her own. At each lesson I will ask if there is something is particular that the student was troubled by during the previous week’s practicing and aim to solve that problem together. Eventually the student will learn how to problem solve during practicing. I encourage students to listen to many recordings of the works that they are learning to find inspiration. Read More

I love to teach students music and help them grow both as people and musicians. In 2009, I graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, and my primary instruments were violin, viola, and piano. After graduation, I continued to maintain my home studio where I taught individual lessons, and I also taught elementary orchestra for Chandler Unified.
