I am a third-year undergrad at NYU, studying Music Education with a concentration in instrumental performanceand I love it! Most importantly, I believe every student is different and I always try to avoid a "one size fits all" approach to teaching. That said, I'm a big advocate of scales, etudes, and technical exercises, as well as exploring repertoire (solo, chamber music, and symphonic). I encourage students to listen to a wide variety of music, in addition to their work on the violin, sometimes with weekly listening assignments. The ultimate goal of my teaching philosophy is to help my students to develop a passion for music and eventually develop their own understanding of music in an artistic form. Every week, I set goals that are individualized for every student. If the goals are not met, we could discuss the situation and adjust accordingly. Students should feel comfort during the lessons and enjoy playing. I also actively listens to feedbacks provided by the students and families and make reasonable changes to the teaching plan. I started teaching when I was in high school. I went to The King's College and majored in Music Education. I have also performed throughout the US and Europe.
