I enjoy playing my violin in other orchestra with Crown City Symphony in Altadena, Corelli Ensemble, Southland Symphony Orchestra and Palos Verdes Regional Orchestra. As soon as I meet with a student or a group of students, I make sure they are welcomed by an energetic teacher before getting started on their lesson. I try to keep the student(s) engaged by showing them different ways and approaches to music from books and my own personal approaches to help them grow knowing their teacher is well experienced. I start with the basics and for young students do nursery rhymes and songs they know,this makes it more enjoyable for them. I also ask them what music they would be interested in learning and see if I can find an easy version of this. I know everyone learns  at different speeds so making sure they are comfortable yet challenging is important to me.Being able to know when the student is enjoying and not making it a chore is a key to helping and encouraging a student learn. Watching them progress in their insturment is rewarding in of itself and nothing is more satisfying. I studied under Dr. Ernest Salem at Cal State Fullerton and received various master class from members of Talich Quartet, Mary Straub, Wei-Wei Lu, and most notably James Buswell. My former teacher, Andrea Byers, studied with world renown, Ivan Galamian. I received my bachelor's with an emphasis in music education. Mr. Li directed the musical The Wiz at the Tugaloos college of Mississippi and directed the Tchaikovskys Nutcracker Ballet at Madison Cultural Center in Mississippi. Since he moved to California in 2002, I focused on music education; he was director of Waltrips Yamaha Music School, and later a director of the music program and a faculty member at the Arroyo Pacific Academy. I was born and raised in New York City. All my life I have been passionate about the arts and music is certainly one of my greatest passions. I started studying classical violin at the age of 6 at the Third Street Music school in New York. (studied under the Suzuki method).
