For beginning students, I typically start with the Suzuki Method while combining it with the Essential Elements Method. As the student learns the fundamentals I gradually add scales and exercises to further develop the student's technique. After further progress, I begin to introduce solo repertoire and add other pieces. I'm fairly flexible on what pieces the student may play in the lessons, as long as the rudiments and classic repertoire are covered. Read More

I am a full-time teacher of language arts, but still a life-long violinist. My musical background is classically based, but expands to all forms of music. I received my degree from Montclair State University, where Icontinued to study and participate in small chamber ensembles and solo engagements for public and private occasions. Being a very visual learner myself, I enjoy using method books such as the Sassmannshaus series, as they are beautifully illustrated and help to capture and hold young children's attention.
