I am a recent university graduate who is passionate about sharing my love of music with students, and developing that devotion with them! I have a special interest in performing, so my lessons reflect my training in performance with major orchestras. I currently participate in the Seven Hills Symphony here in Cincinnati, as well as smaller chamber ensembles for paid gigs. For violin and viola lessons, I start my beginning students off with the violin/viola instrument hold as well as the bow hold. Once one has gotten the feel for holding the instrument as well as the bow, I teach the student the open strings of the instrument, followed by a one octave scale, with basic note reading exercises. I graduated from Wright State University in May of 2014 and received my teaching license in December 2014. I have performed in many different groups including Cincinnati Boychoir, May Festival Youth Chorus, Great Miami Youth Symphony, Wright State University Chamber Orchestra, and the Hamilton Fairfield Chorale. It is important to me to include composition, theory, and history in my lessons so that my students can understand music as a whole, rather than just being a talented performer. Ping is a violist living and performing in Cincinnati, OH. She began her career in Taiwan as a member of a string quartet, choir and orchestra. She was a prize winner on a local radio competition as a string quartet member and performed frequently at National Concert Halls. She then spent four years working on her Bachelor’s degree in Taipei, Taiwan with a major of viola performance and a minor of piano performance. Read More
