I evaluate the students level, from there I make a step by step guide (of selected piece and etudes) to show the student their progress into the next level. For the beginning string player I like to start with a Hal Leonard method book to communicate and help string players master the basics. Once the student has progressed I will begin some solo repertoire from varying genres. I find it is always helpful to allow students to play music that they enjoy - experiencing a range of both popular and classical pieces to broaden their horizons. I teach a predominantly Suzuki as I learned with the Suzuki method and I am trained as a Suzuki instructor. I don't completely immerse my students with the Suzuki method and while learning how to play by ear, I teach students how to read music so that they are able to compose their own music. Read More

I started playing violin at the age of 4, and started teaching at 17. In 2003, I started playing viola, and in 2005, I started learning cello. In 2010, I graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music degree with electives in Psychology.
