I only want my students to have a positive experience when leaving our lesson. I am constantly letting them know what they've done well, along with what goals we need to work on. I focus on the sandwich method, which is one positive trait, something to work on, then another positive trait. Everyone is different, so their learning pace is different as well. I do expect them to put at least some effort in at home via practicing (although I know things come up sometimes), otherwise it would be hard to find progress when they haven't practiced what we were working on. As a teacher, I am invested in the success of each of my students. I work with them to assess their unique strengths and weaknesses, and I build a lesson plan to help them achieve their individual goals. I believe that studying music should be both fun and rewarding, so I strive to encourage and motivate my students in each lesson. While I know that not every student will become a professional violinist, I hope my lessons will inspire a lifelong appreciation of music that will enrich my students for the rest of their lives. My teaching style is very patient and encouraging and I can tailor my lesson plans to suit each individual student. Although building technique and comfort are extremely important, I find that the most essential aspect of learning an instrument is to study the music that you love, and I'm definitely open to adding a bit of musical theory to every lesson if the student is interested. While the student is learning the basics, I also add pieces in different genres to the student's repertoire so that he or she can develop early familiarity with a variety of styles. Read More

During my career I have successfully won many orchestra auditions and trained many young professional players who now occupy positions in some of the best orchestras in Europe. Read More

Depending on students age and ability, I use different kind of methods. For students that are new to music I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, this book is really good to start to learn about music and the instrument, and then Suzuki method for repertoire. For more advanced students I like to set learning steps, that way my students can achieve goals quickly and feel more engaging to practice. Read More

I’m a passionate instructor that has enthusiastic energy and desire to make students improve. I believe that not only does the instructor must be talented good, but also know how to teach and build a strong trusting relationship to help achieve the student’s goals and see their progress. I am currently working on getting my bachelor’s degree in viola performance at the University of Houston on scholarship studying under Suzanne LeFevre, professional violist who plays at the Houston Grand Opera, and alongside with Wayne Brooks, principal chair violist from the Houston Symphony.
