I am a passionate and encouraging instructor who loves working with students of all ages and playing levels. I graduated from Agnes Scott College in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Violin Performance. Ive participated in a number of ensembles including the Agnes Scott Community Orchestra and multiple chamber ensembles. I teach the basics using a combination of methods, customizing lessons to each student's skill level, ability level, and interest (classical/folk/modern). For beginning students I suggest using the Suzuki Method, or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once each student is ready to move beyond the fundamentals, I find exercises and solos to best fit and improve their skill level for recital performances, competitions, strings class/orchestra, or other activities. Teaching for 12 years and playing for 18 years has really inspired me to cater to every age, and the student’s personal goals and their particular culture as there are no limitations to my style. I have experience creating music programs for church ministries, learning centers, music academies and more. I read a great amount of classical literature and study allot of history; I say this to acknowledge the fact that I don't only teach proficiency in the music discipline. Uniquely, I have helped on movie sets to make actors "look" like musicians. I do train stunt-doubles for the accuracy of the filmed scenes. I have played on albums for studio work and have composed my own music, and support improvisation.
