Hello! I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2021, I graduated from Penn State with a Master of Arts in Violin Performance. I also have a duel Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College in Violin Performance and Music Education. I have been teaching private lessons for about 2 years, both for a company and privately. These lessons include beginner piano, voice, and violin. In my music therapy internship I have also had the experience of teaching adaptive piano, guitar, and ukulele lessons. Finally, while I am not yet board certified and cannot offer music therapy until next school year, I have over 1,000 hours of music therapy clinical experience in which I use musical activities to help clients achieve non-musical goals in the areas of cognition, emotion, physical abilities, communication, social skills and academics. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Im 23 years old, fluent in English, Armenian and Arabic and Ive been playing the violin since I was 4. All my recent professional experiences have led me to the person and teacher I am today. Ive taken pedagogy classes at UMD, where I learned how to deal with students with different ages and abilities.
