I find that their methods for both kids and adults not only covers the basic fundamentals of music, but they are also able to make everything comprehensive and enjoyable. For guitar, I like to use Hal Leonard's basic guitar book for students focusing on popular music and basic guitar, and for classical guitar I like to use the Christopher Parkening Method. Read More

I am a motivated and fun-loving music teacher of all age ranges. I have been teaching private voice and piano lessons since I was a senior in high school, and I love working with all of my students and watching them grow throughout the course of our lessons. I graduated magna cum laude from The Hartt School in 2001, receiving my BFA in Musical Theatre Performance. A year after I graduated from college, I knew that I wanted to teach in schools along with teaching privately, so I got my PreK thru 12th Grade Music Teaching Certification for the State of CT through The ARC Program, and have been teaching in both the private and public school settings ever since. My love for singing started when I was eight years old. I grew up singing in the Los Angeles Childrens Chorus which gave me much experience as a working musician starting at age eleven. I sang alongside notable alumnus Billie Eilish, as well as with Gustavo Dudamel, the LA Phil, and the LA Master Chorale. I am completing my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst this year and plan to continue my studies of voice and vocal pedagogy in my graduate studies. I have had the pleasure of performing with organizations like Opera Piccola, San Antonio Opera, Austin Lyric Opera, The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Austin, the Theater Company of Fort Lee, Capitol Opera Richmond, and Classical Revolution RVA.
