I believe in age appropriate techniques and repertoire, and use both warm-ups and vocalises, along with accessible repertoire to foster technique and give students the tools they need to think through a song on their own. For beginning students, around ages 5-9, I start with easy songs, but also teach them how singing works. I like to teach technique, and help students improve in their singing. Once students have grasped the fundamentals of singing, I'll let them start looking at solo repertoire so they can practice for a recital performance. Tiffany C. mezzo-soprano, received her Bachelors degree of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX, and has also received a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from Florida State University. Throughout her time in obtaining a Bachelor’s degree Tiffany placed 1st in many competitions such as TEXOMA NATS, and South Texas NATS. She has also received various awards such as the Harold Stark Encouragement Award, the Lucila Montoya Award for outstanding performance of a Spanish art song, and the Alice Dutcher Thornton Certificate of Honor.
