After that working on moving smoothly though notes while keeping the voice aligned, handling vowels and consonants, and gradually extending range. Practicing is a major concept that I focus on and therefore provide every student with weekly practice sheets as well as written monthly progress reports to their parents. My experience as a teacher with younger students comes from my background in music education and choral conducting. I began teaching privately about a year ago. I grew up with loving and compassionate teachers and family members.  It's my job as a human being to offer that same level of respect and compassion. I also use Suzuki, Hal Leonard and Bastien piano materials. My specialty is popular, sacred, arias, jazz and folk music. I create diversity in my lessons and keep them fun and exciting. I was born with an "educator" mindset, and began teaching early on in my personal music studies. I began teaching about 10 years ago, in 2010, after getting into my undergraduate studies for music performance. I have taught all levels and in many different settings: To-date I have taught ages 6 through 65. I also like to have my students work on a wide variety of repertoire, even if they would like to specialize in only one field.
