I have 8 years of experience teaching music lessons, to children as young as three through senior adults. I have instructed voice and general music at the middle school, high school, and college level. I serve as piano and voice instructor for the Loveland Academy of Music, and teach both instruments at my home studio and in my students' homes. Learning proper vocal technique- Breathing, Posture, Positioning your mouth and tongue correctly, Music and facial expressions. Voice lessons we do 10 min of vocal warmups and 20 min of songs. Vocal warmups are for basic technique.I try to have my students sing a variety of music but most common among my students is Musical theatre and pop. When taking on beginner students, I typically use a blend of method books and novice musical pieces to begin to build musicianship. With intermediate musicians, I tend to seek out anything of interet to the student while incorporating harder repertoire to strengthen musicianship and to continue to peek interest in music. With adult musicians, I let them guide me to their area of interest, and I capitalize on that to guide them to better musicianship, no matter what their skill level may be. Read More

I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students get really excited about reaching their goals. I consistently encourage students by giving them positive feedback about the progress they are making. I also help them push themselves to become better singers by being an inspiration and a mentor for them throughout their journey. I do feel that music is a journey, not a destination. I inspire my students to develop an appreciation for music that lasts their entire lives, and so my instruction is tailored to the individual no matter where they are on their journey. Read More
