I love to perform and I love to teach! As a performer, I am comfortable in opera, musical theater, recital, and concert settings. I have had the pleasure of performing with organizations like Opera Piccola, San Antonio Opera, Austin Lyric Opera, The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Austin, the Theater Company of Fort Lee, Capitol Opera Richmond, and Classical Revolution RVA. I know it helped me when I was studying voice. Along with voice I find it important that a student understands and grasps the concepts of general music theory and the history of the pieces and composers of which they will be studying in hopes that such information will create an even deeper understanding and love for music. My students will be encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as finding music that they would like to perform, so that they can feel good about their voice and stay motivated to learn. I have been teaching since getting my masters in 1999 - from Brooklyn and NYC to New Haven, CT, where I now teach vocal technique to all ages at the Educational Center for The Arts (Performing Arts High School) and at the Neighborhood Music School.
