I taught private guitar lessons continuously, while in highschool and college. In between engagements in my performing career, I would always return to teaching. In 1992 I was certified by Dr. L Scott Martin, Phd from Juilliard, to teach vocal performance at his Academy of the Arts in Denver, and I have continued to the present, to coach young singers to express themselves with music. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Music performance, emphasis in voice. During that time I was given the opportunities to sing with some wonderful groups including Kentucky Opera Chorus, Cardinal Singers, Early Music Ensemble, and Choral Arts Society. Since moving to Colorado in 2016, I have sang with multiple quartets and ensembles, including St Martin's Chamber Choir, Gaudium Verum, Anima Chamber Ensemble as well as continuing to teach music in an individual and/or choral setting. I'm a passionate and energetic instructor who loves working with students of all ages and sharing my love of music. In 1994, I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Performing as lead singer in a very fun dance/funk band with a horn section has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I attended school at Valley Head High School in Valley Head, Alabama and attended college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have performed all over the country, and my musical arrangements, compositions, and marching drill design have been performed all over the world. Music has been my life for almost 20 years, and I wouldn't trade any of my experiences in performance for anything in this world!
