My voice students ranged from young beginning singers just learning the basics of singing to seniors in undergrad preparing large roles. Music is my passion and I love sharing that with others! I am a recent graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Music Education with a minor in musical theatre. I've had a wide array of experiences in both the education and the performing world. On stage, I studied in Graz, Austria with the American Institute of Musical Studies performing German lieder in their masterclasses and studio recitals as well as showtunes in their "Broadway in Love: AIMS in Graz!" concerts. I have a passion for music. I started on the piano when I was seven years old and I've never looked back. After spending years in grade school, junior high and high school learning and performing in the band program on trumpet and euphonium, I moved on to play euphonium in The Most Exciting Band in the Land, the Ohio University Marching 110! As for my experience, I have been playing guitar for 15 years, teaching for 5 years, and active in bands for 7 years. I was privileged to receive private guitar lessons myself for a decade. Also, I have a solid amount of experience with audio recording, mixing, and microphone techniques for amplifying instruments. As far as teaching credentials go, I have not earned any official documents from any institution. I have a more laid back teaching style that is adapted to the student's personality and learning style. The last thing that any student wants is a stressful environment. Musical lessons should be challenging and have an element of fun as well. The student should leave the lesson wanting to come back to another lesson not feeling like they should put their instrument down and give up. I focus on the positives and give methods on how to overcome the negatives.  Ultimately, I want the student to go back to their organization and be able to correct discrepancies as a result of what they have learned.  Read More
