I love teaching music is my passion, I try to give a free way of learning to each student where they will feel the music as a wonderful art of life, the progress will be something quite natural as I approach them into a good technique combining their own personal inspiration, I love to teach some composition too, so they will develop their creativity in their own work. I began working with children at the age of 15, working in a daycare.  I immediately knew that I loved working with kids and I continued in that field.  I have worked as a preschool teacher up to a 5th grade teacher.  As music has always been my passion, I pursued a degree in music where I learned piano and studied voice privately.  There I learned many techniques and strategies for teaching others. I love working with students of all ages and skill levels, and one of my biggest rewards as a teacher is seeing students improve and love music more and more each week. I work with students to develop their own unique goals for their lessons. Some students are putting together a full recital or prepping for auditions. Other students are just figuring out how to breathe and match pitch! I find that goal-setting helps build student excitement and a growing passion for music from many different genres. Read More

My joy for teaching came simply from teaching friends and family how to play, and quickly seeing them grow and discover themselves as a musician. My musical style began with rock n roll, and has adopted a little bit of everything over the years, from jazz to folk and electronic, and everything in between. I learned music by ear, and when I got to a point where I felt I had my own style, I learned music theory to fill in the gaps and become more well rounded. Read More

I am a unique teacher, I believe in allowing the student to create their idea of what a vocal coach looks and sounds like, yet only the student can put their effort into making each lesson a success! I can motivate the student into putting forth that effort. Choosing a song, style and performance based on where their comfort level is, working with that, and yet challenging them along the way to be open to trying new ideas. Read More

For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs. The methods that I normally use are the Alfred Basic Piano Library, and the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures. I also use technique books such as Fingerpower, Hanon, and Czerny. I always incorporate Music Theory in my lessons as well as improvisation. i am familiar with the Royal Conservatory of Music technical requirements and find them necessary to any student wanting to become proficient at piano/keyboard playing. I use may online worksheets for theory, improvisation and fun repertoire as well. i am open to the needs of the student but also have a structured method of teaching so that all aspects of the music learning process is followed.
