While I aim to help students become their best, I ultimately want them to have fun above all else. I believe progress looks different for everyone, and I am very patient and happy to go over something more than once. Learning an instrument is more of a marathon than a sprint in my eyes, and I hope to guide each student on their own musical path. Lessons can range anywhere from simply learning about the instrument itself, going over foundational music theory(notes,chords,scales,intervals, and so on), learning site reading and tablature and the benefits of both. For beginning voice students, I'll introduce them to the basics of singing, such as breath support, tone, etc. We'll start with some classical songs in order to cement good technique, and then branch out into the different types of music that the student would like to explore. For beginning piano/keyboard students, we'll begin with Piano Adventures Book 1 by Faber and progress through lesson books until the student is comfortable trying solo pieces. Read More
