Before committing to long term lessons with a student, I like to get to know my student and their musical goals. Want to get the lead in your school musical? Or audition for that advanced choir class? Or maybe Depending on the age and skill level of my students, I assign 1-5 repertoire pieces to work on. For my performing students, I stress the importance of having multiple audition pieces under your belt at all times. Read More

I create a hands on curriculum based on the students musical proficiency. Alongside this structured lesson plan, every student will receive training on proper practicing techniques which help build their sense of guidance, responsibility, and structure. Students will also receive training for embouchure and tone development as well as warm up etudes that cater to the students skill level. Music theory and terms will be infused within the lesson plans to ensure my student's proper use of signs and symbols. Read More

For beginners young adults as well as children, I like to start with the basics simple vocal exercises building up the cardio teaching them how to breathe correctly so when it is actually time to sing songs they have the essentials needed. For intermediate and adult students I like to get an Outlook of who they are, there goals and aspirations long-term and short-terms for their voice and music in general and I use that to develop a personalized lesson based off of the information that they gave me so that I have their they're up most attention and can Ensure the best results from my teachings. My students will enjoy their lessons, especially if they are taking the time outside of the class to practice and hone in on their skills. My main attitude is that this should be a time away from traditional school or work, where a student can relax, have a good time and learn new techniques and nuances of music performance and theory. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement. No performance is perfect, but no mistake should be without encouragement. Read More

I have been teaching music for 8 years, starting while in college. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching students from ages 4 to 20 to sing and play instruments because if you're not having fun when you're doing music, you're not doing it right. I love getting to see my students have breakthroughs as they develop their own musical personalities. I have also enjoyed my work with school and church ensembles ranging from ages 13 to 85 and can help my students have success at any level. Read More

Fun is the goal of each student because a student enjoying themselves will always want to practice and be successful. I try to incorporate as much learning in a light, fun filled environment as possible to keep the student interested. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for their gift/talent. Therefore, it’s important that each student develops at their own pace. We set realistic goals together and then I create a program based on those goals. Read More

There are typically three books that I like to start children off with which include Piano Party, Music for Little Mozart’s, and My First Piano Adventure which are designed for children ages 4-11 years old. These books help children to understand the basics of rhythm, music theory, and activities associated with the two. I generally like to begin my teenage to adult students with the All in One Adult Course series which consists of three levels from easy to beginner intermediate and also combines a mixture of classical and modern music.
