I have taught private voice lessons to students of all ages and levels since 2015. I began teaching music in public schools in 2011, while still performing on the side in choirs, a cappella groups, and theatre ensembles. I work with a variety of learning methods including Hal Leonard, John Thompson, Bastien, Alfred, Hanon, Czerny and Faber.  I select methodology and solo repertoire to best improve my students technique while at the same time keeping their interest and enthusiasm. I also encourage music compostition, arranging and improvisation to those students who express an interest and desire to learn who to write and compose music.  In addition to teaching the fundamentals of piano I try to engage with my students to learn how to make music on the piano or voice. My students will not only begin with the basic fundamentals of singing, breathing techniques, and music theory; but they will also learn the anatomy of the voice and how the body allows the sound to be produced. I began teaching private lessons back in undergrad. I found that I really enjoy getting to know someone one-on-one, and I think I'm particularly effective at figuring out how to communicate knowledge, create art and inspire on that level! The experience of my students has run the gamut; I've taught 5-year old and 65-year old beginners, I've taught students who already have an undergrad degree in music.
