Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! It is important that each student progresses at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, acknowledging accomplishments, fueling a students desire to progress, and finding ways to stimulate a students desire to learn more. The first two things that I teach in my studio is posture and breathing. I analyze the posture of the singer and find several yoga postures that can help the student to relax some tension and to be more comfortable. I help students to be more aware of how the breath works in their bodies by using several repeating breath exercises and yoga posture. My vocal technique is based on YogaVoice, meaning that I used Yoga principles combined with Vocal Technique exeecises to sing more organic and to achieve an authentic relaxed voice. Read More

For young and/or beginner vocalists, I focus on classical fundamentals, as they are the roots for success in all genres. This means working on breath support and learning about vowel placement. The next step would then be developing and strengthening the singers vocal range and repertoire. Utilizing the philosophy of experiential education, I encourage my students to explore music through their own personal experiences. Understanding the experience we have with music in our everyday lives, allows us to personally connect with the music and sounds that speak to us, while aslo nurturing creativity and curiousity within our instrument. Because the voice is the only instrument we cannot see with the naked eye, voice lessons must be extremely interactive. I believe in catering each lesson towards the goals of the individual student. I also believe in the collaboration of teacher and student. I am always asking students opinions or reactions on what we work on in the lesson. I want to empower my students at every level to become more aware of their instrument to the point that they can eventually become their own teacher to a certain extent. Read More

Then I explain the basic vocal techniques how to vocalize with humming and why it is necessary to warm up with the humming with my own demonstration for them to understand how to produce singing sound with the feeling of sensation in body to sing freely as a singing-actor with the clarity with the pure vowel sounds, A E I O U in a basic Bel Canto singing technique of the continuation of the vowels.
