I would want nothing more than for kids to be excited and determined when beginning every class with me, which is why I wanna keep things fun and energizing always! Especially teaching online mostly, I know how easy it can to stay unfocused or disengage, which is why the material we cover will always be catered to what the student feels comfortable with while also being challenging enough for their skill level at the moment. I started teaching during my time at NYU. An interesting fact about my particular vocal journey is that because I had never really had formal voice training, I was learning vocal concepts from a scientific and theoretical perspective in the classroom while concurrently learning them in my own body and voice in my own lessons. I think this gave my a unique perspective into how our bodies naturally learn and acquire new skills as they relate to singing. Read More

All I want is to know that my students are enjoying music more deeply, and that they gain the self-sufficiency to learn between lessons. I make sure to point out milestones that a student has achieved to encourage that innate human drive for improvement, and always keep looking for what is exciting and inspiring for the student at a given time. I make sure each student I work with knows what elements to include in their practice, how to learn a piece of music from scratch, and how to break things down into manageable, learnable chunks. Students will be encouraged to bring in pieces that they are interested in learning. For voice students, I will require them to not only learn theory, but they will be required to study piano for a short period of their lesson. This is meant to help boost their understanding of musicality, theory, and aural training. We will also begin with simple vocalizes that are catered to their style of singing. Read More

I am a laid back teacher, but I make sure all students behave and learn. I love when the students enjoy what they are doing, and when I enjoy what I am doing. It's a relationship that you build. I expect the students to practice their craft. I continue to learn as I teach as well. Inspiration is very important. The inspired students are special for they know what they want to accomplish. I do believe in the fundamentals of music and ultimately, no matter what you hear, learning music is not re-inventing the wheel. There is technique, reading music and understanding the basics of how the particular instrument works. I like the Essential Elements for Guitar or bass for guitarists and bassists and Alfred's Piano method books. Ted Reed's Guide to Syncopation is a good drum book. Ultimately I like to get the know the student as much as I can as soon as I can so I can help them get to what they want as soon as possible with a few laughs along the way. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
