I began teaching piano when I was in eighth grade, teaching beginners. During my undergraduate years, I maintained a full private studio of beginning to intermediate students, and while living in Germany, I taught piano and voice at a private German music studio and in my home. I believe that learning is not one-size-fits-all: individual academic and physical backgrounds may provide varying difficulty level for every learner, but everyone is fundamentally able to learn with conscious effort, strategic practice over a period of time, and external guidance. I always wanted to be an opera singer until I discovered vocal jazz. Now, I write music inspired by jazz theory (sort of) and sing and arrange jazz standards and pop tunes in ways that are the most interesting to me. I earned my Masters in Studio Music and Vocal Jazz Performance from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music in 2017 and am currently writing and arranging songs for my premiere album.
