Typically, I favor using traditional curriculum for beginning students (Alfred, Faber, Bastian). As a student progresses we typically incorporate Clemeneti sonatinas and the students favorite pop/modern songs. When a student achieves an advanced level of difficulty curriculum is purchased depending on the student's goals, college aspirations, and learning objectives. I typically administer a Classical Method of education, whether in private lessons or the classroom. I taught private piano lessons to about 15 students ranging from 3 years old to 38 years old for about 2 years while teaching in the School District of Philadelphia full-time. During my time at Temple University I was in Premier Wind ensembles playing Euphonium and Trombone and performed with the Temple University Diamond Marching Band for 4 years. During my marching band experience I was featured on The Wolf on Wall Street starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Annie starring Jamie Fox, and performed on stage with Fitz and The Tantrums in addition to weekly performances at Lincoln Financial Field Temple University football home games and at the Boca Raton Bowl Game. . I really desire the child to enjoy lessons. I like to build their confidence that they are achieving. I'm strict in how I teach the language of music. I don't half way teach and desire my students to be able to sight read music and understand timing. If i have a student that doesn't understand I explain in in math and they have all understood how important timing is. I love teaching and connecting on a personal level with my students. My singing experience dates back to high school where I sang in concert choirs as well as an award winning jazz ensemble. From there I attended Orange Coast College, where I studied music theory, jazz and pop vocals. For children beginners, I usually start with either Faber & Faber Piano Adventure or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements.  When the students have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will start introducing solo repertoire to get them ready for their first recital performance.  For adult students, I guide my instruction accordingly after finding out what the student is interested in to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
