My vocal methods are rooted in bel canto style with a strong Melocchi technique using standard repertoire from art songs to stage to develop any voice in preparation for various styles of song. We have a wonderful time and sometimes younger children need a parent or caregiver to help them online. It is so amazing and fun to see them understand and get big smiles on their faces. I employ a very eclectic, rotating repetoire. For beginning violin students, I use the Suzuki method of ear-training, however I am not married to that curriculum. I prefer to use beginning Suzuki materials in tandem with standard American folk and pop music, in accordance to the student's interests. I've been teaching students from age 5 to age 85. With my younger students, when they arrive at lessons, I asked them for their numbers. The numbers are the amount of minutes each younger student practices per day. I tell all of my students you should target a minimum of 35 minutes per day, per instrument.
