I employ a very eclectic, rotating repetoire. For beginning violin students, I use the Suzuki method of ear-training, however I am not married to that curriculum. I prefer to use beginning Suzuki materials in tandem with standard American folk and pop music, in accordance to the student's interests. The methods I use change depending on the student, but generally, I use the following: - Piano: start with Alfreds (suited for age/proficiency), then choose a specialty (improvising, classical, pop, etc) - Guitar: start with Hal Leonard (for note reading), then choose a specialty (jazz, pop, classical, flamenco, etc) - Voice: because of the nature of the human voice, I dont use a book, but rather teach principles and methods to use during practice and performance Regardless of the instrument, I hope to help you improve as much as I can. The teaching experience I have, started at the university, with some colleagues that wished to learn to sing better or to just for Hobbie. For the past 5 years I have helped many singers, professional and young students in different styles of music, in classical, pop and mariachi. As a social service for my university I gave lessons to kids, and conducted choral pieces with senior students and adults.
