I employ a very eclectic, rotating repetoire. For beginning violin students, I use the Suzuki method of ear-training, however I am not married to that curriculum. I prefer to use beginning Suzuki materials in tandem with standard American folk and pop music, in accordance to the student's interests. I assess each student in their first lesson to see their entrance level and motivation. From there we discuss goals and I cater each lesson for each student. For children and teens it is usually to feel confident singing, prepping auditions and performances. They usually have a lot of motivation and a willingness to take risks and know they are being taught in a safe space to explore. Typically, I favor using traditional curriculum for beginning students (Alfred, Faber, Bastian). As a student progresses we typically incorporate Clemeneti sonatinas and the students favorite pop/modern songs. When a student achieves an advanced level of difficulty curriculum is purchased depending on the student's goals, college aspirations, and learning objectives. I typically administer a Classical Method of education, whether in private lessons or the classroom.
