In May of 2016, I graduated from the University of Connecticut holding a bachelors degree in Music. At UConn, I took - and currently take private lessons with Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone Rod Nelman. My time at UConn was diversely beneficial, granting me opportunities to perform in operas, musicals, an a capella group, a marching band, and professional-level choirs that have performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall. I spent a semester taking classes with the Neag School of Education, working a teaching clinical in a nearby middle school, and a semester with the School of Business, studying entrepreneurship and managerial/interpersonal behavior. I have been teaching for more than 30 years, mostly in the public schools as well as privately. I have instructed large groups and ensembles, as well as smaller musical groups in and out of the public schools. Performing in various Jazz groups throughout the state has enhanced my teaching knowledge in the field of music education. I have over 15 years of singing and performing experience. I teach beginner piano/keyboard, and all progress levels for voice lessons. I arrange a cappella music and love to coach direct a cappella groups and vocal ensembles/rock bands. I was musically trained at NYU Steinhardt, where I learned how to sing by utilizing our natural resonance, to keep the voice healthy give us longevity.
