My teaching experience began at the University of Tulsa. I taught voice to a few students who were non music majors for about a year. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, I began teaching at Brook Fine Arts Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I taught over 30 students a week in both voice and piano (ages 3 to 20) for over a year. In my work as a teacher, I have helped students prepare for school competitions, studio recitals, talent shows, solo and ensemble contest, and musical auditions. Read More

For beginning piano students I typically use the Alfred Method. Once the student demonstrates a grasp of the fundamentals I introduce solo repertoire. For adults I typically use the John Thompson Adult Piano Course and we work together to find the solo repertoire. For voice lessons, I typically teach the bel canto style. I will work with vocalises that help develop breath control, placement and open vowels. Some students love classical music, and we work on Italian arias...while others love 80s Metal Bands, and we work on healthy ways to approach contemporary music.
