My teaching experience has been with All About Theatre Company since 2017. Teaching Kids-Teens how to sing, dance and act. I have been teaching private voice for the least year over zoom since the pandemic. Encouraging regular practice and developing a personal vocal exercise routine for every student is something I do for every student, every voice is unique so there is no one size fits all here. I help encourage a students passion in the area of music they are interested in while exposing them to other genres that might help them achieve there vocal goals. Read More

I believe that while there are certain immutable principles to how the voice functions, these principles need to be tailored to the particular instrument each student has as well as their nature, and how they wish to express themselves musically. Additionally much of the student teacher dynamic is based on a common vocabulary. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students engaged and developing a passion for singing and music. It's important to set real and specific goals so the progress can be noticeable, working at each students pace. I find encouragement and acknowledgment of accomplishments is essential when I teach. I firmly believe that experiencing music and being inquisitive are invaluable to learning how to play music. Studying music is not just about learning the material and regurgitating it, but discovering why a moment of music is cool and examining what about that moment makes it hit you in the right spot. I will be the guide that the student needs when he or she does not know where to go with his or her studies, but I want to encourage students to bring in music they want to learn, or discuss music that they think is cool and use that as a jumping off point into our lessons. I love seeing my students develop a passion for music! That is why I make sure each student progresses at their own pace by setting realistic goals for each lesson. I always acknowledge a student when they practice very hard and ask great questions. By understanding what the student wants out of the lesson, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.
