Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for singing! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I try to set realistic goals for my students at each lesson. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs!I encourage my students to practice at least 15 minutes per day and I continually each student new materials to practice( which is age appropriate.) My teaching method always includes at least one Broadway musical piece and one monologue for them to learn in case they need an audition piece. Read More

I started teaching when I was in high school, I began by teaching young students ranging from 5 years old to teenagers. As I started attending college, my students' age spectrum expanded into adults and even seniors. Through these experiences, I have learned to mold my teaching skills according to the students' needs and cater an enjoyable, and yet, challenging lesson. For three years I was a camp counselor in the La Honda Music Camp (Hayward, CA). As a counselor, I looked after 10-12 middle school-aged girls, oversaw brass sectionals, coached trombone, and assisted in the junior wind ensemble. In high school I used to coach my classmates in the trombone section. In my grad school years I began to teach beginning piano and trombone. My hope when teaching music is that the kids have a lot of fun learning their instrument, so I always encourage them to learn songs they'd like to sing/play along to. Read More

At a young age of 14, Gorjana, was already as one of the youngest freshmen in the history of the Academy of Music Art, University of Arts, Belgrade, Serbia. She graduated shortly after turning 18, and was awarded a diploma by the Academia, distinguishing her as the most successful undergraduate students of her generation. She has won 13 national and 9 international piano competitions and played  as a soloist and chamber musician in various European countries, as well as in all major concert halls in Serbia and Montenegro.            In 2005, Gorjana earned the Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, in the studio of Professor Barry Snyder.
