Voice: I focus on strengthening vocal consistency with healthy vocal practices. I also want to strengthen the musicianship of singers by developing initial sight-reading and other aural skills. A lesson typically would consist of a third of vocalizing/warmups, and two-thirds of working on one to two songs to train the voice and build repertoire material. All levels of voice are welcome in my studio! For beginners I generally begin with giving the basics of how the voice functions and focus on breathing for singing. Then we ease into vocal exercises. After the first few lessons we move on to singing a simple song. I encourage the student to bring in music they like and would like to sing. I begin teaching every student with the same vocal exercises to strengthen the voice and then we discuss different styles and how the voice can change stylistically but not technically. Read More

For all my students I design a fun atmosphere where they feel comfortable, stimulated and encouraged to absorb musical knowledge. Depending on their musical backgrounds and their ability I discuss with my students and their parents(depending on student's age) what is their primary goal to achieve during the lesson, what style they want to concentrate on. When we get to know each other I assign my student with Vaccai classical tune (practices vocal technique) and two songs in style preferred, when a student learns and masters these we move on, with more difficult tunes each time.
