I first started teaching after I went good around middle school. I was giving charity classes to a bunch of friends from school who later decided to follow up their guitar studies academically and I gave them the foundation. I started teaching because my teacher said I was already good enough and if I could help him teach the other students, so I did until he retired and me and my Duo Partner took over the school. Although I have experience teaching both private, one-on-one lessons and group lessons in a classroom setting, I find that one-on-one lessons is the best way to learn. This allows students to go at their own pace and not have to feel rushed. Not to mention, it's way more enjoyable to learn when you have a patient teacher giving you support and motivation. I don't like to rush students because after all, most students just want to learn for fun. Read More

I love the teaching profession and the process of instilling musical knowledge and passion in others. I first started learning music in middle school when I was a part of the concert band. I later went on to high school where I took piano classes and became my main instrument. I eventually graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associates in Arts degree in music education. I'm a musician with eleven years of playing experience. Read More

If the students already had books from prior music instructor, we pick up from the last lessons after answering questions to make sure the students thoroughly understand the previous lessons from the previous chapters. For beginning students, I've used the Mel Bay's modern bass and guitar methods, James Bastien piano library, Essential Elements for wind instruments, Advanced Rock drumming and Master theory books by Charles S. Peters and Paul Yoder or any music books and online documents download by the the student. Read More

Getting my students to express themselves and achieve their own style is my main goal, but really identifying with their instrument goes much further.I am only going to show you the way, showing you the options and above all giving you the tools to function and be able to walk it. Music is something that is enjoyed and an escape, it does not have to represent torture or an obligation, that is the central point of all this... and we go back to world peace, but they ask you to write too much and I'm a music teacher, I don't teach poetry hahaha. As almost any instructor will tell you, the methods I use depend largely on the student and their abilities. Younger students usually benefit from learning to read music and a beginning method book is usually helpful. I strongly believe that ear training is the key to musicianship so I use the material we cover in lessons to help students develop good aural perception. I know that understanding music theory is crucial for communicating with other musicians. Read More

I'm always encouraging and pushing my students to practice more on a daily basis and make them aware that practice and going over the lessons over and over makes them better every day. I'm always also pushing and motivating them to learn more and practice more. The more they practice each lesson the better they become and the more they would have control of the instrument. Always motivating my students to push forward and practice in class as I monitor their own progress and guide them to practice on their own at least one hour to two hours daily. Read More
